"FREEDOM SPECIAL" for the months of May-July
The summer is here. You're seeing all the other cars out on the streets and tracks across your area, and after a long winter, you are now motivated more than ever to get your project finished. Well, STC would like to help.
So, We're extending our tax season special well into the Summer. So, from May 10-2017 to July 30-2017, The Hunter Ball-Bearing is on special to show the world that there is a true compettitor in the the entry-level ball-bearing turbo market, and you can take great part in getting to know Speed Trapp Consulting.
The Hunter is the next evolution for the GT series journal bearing with a Ball-bearing option CHRA This is in the same class as the GT3071- GT3076R Garrett mid-framed T3 footprint. At approximately 51lbs/min, The Hunter gives 1.8-2.4 litre 4-cylinder and 2.5 litre 6-cylinder engine applications the ability to be as responsive as the GT3251B cast unit, and still make over 460whp with its well-matched turbine exhaust wheel and ported turbine housing in a T31 footprint, in fantastic compact package that does not overfill the engine bay.
With its T6 -7075 forged aluminum composition, The Hunter has unsurpassed durability to prevent compressor wheel flex that is a typical issue with other "billet" aluminum wheels that are of a lower strength composition. As with all of the STC Forged aluminum series, this turbo gives the reliability, repeatability, and rebuildability that is expected from Genuine Garrett Products
This unit has a standard T31 2.5" turbine housing configuration, which can easily replace the standard T3/T4 Garrett-based turbocharger, and is available in T3 or T4 3" V-band configuration.(Coming Summer of 2017)
The Ball-bearing version requires the use of a restrictor (.030") and water fittings. *
This particular turbocharger is designed best for engine applications that generally plan to run efficiency ranges from 10psi-25psi that plan to run from 300whp-460whp in the standard T04E compressor cover. The video below is for the optional T04B compressor cover. Photos shown above are in T04B & T04E compressor covers that have optional coatings.
Please note: As of 11.5.2015, due to increased cost, the T04B compressor cover option is a cost upgrade and not a standard as stated in the video
